Meet Marilyn

My Yoga Journey

I discovered yoga in 2010, when an autoimmune diagnosis led me to seek resilience, strength, and inner peace. Through yoga and holistic practices, I gradually overcame my condition and was able to come off all medication, discovering healing approaches that the medical industry never told me about.

Since then, my journey has grown through study and practice. I am a 500-hour trained yoga teacher and have also trained in first aid, ensuring a safe environment for all students. I completed my traditional yoga training in Bali, and advanced my training in 2018 and 2025 to focus on safer, more effective techniques grounded in modern anatomy. Over the years, I’ve deepened my expertise with a mix of trainings, including:

  • Trauma-informed yoga

  • Hatha-based flow

  • Core Strength Vinyasa (CSV) techniques, based on fascia awareness

  • Restorative yoga, Yoga Nidra, meditation & breathwork

  • Yin yoga

  • Dementia & Parkinson’s informed yoga

  • Chair yoga

In 2023, I also became a Level 4 Sports Massage Therapist, expanding my knowledge of anatomy and injury recovery.

​

Now based in Folkestone, Capel-le-Ferne, I teach yoga that is safe, accessible, and empowering for everyone. My approach blends mindful movement, anatomy-based techniques, and gentle sequencing, with options for differing bodies.
